WILLIAM FROST
"A work of art which did not begin in emotion is not art."
Paul Cezanne
The words of the French Impressionists are universal and remain the abiding inspiration for local artist William Frost's work. He's a bright young star on our art scene, born, bred and still painting in East Dulwich.
William (aka Wilf) paints funky oil on canvas pictures. They're inspired by urban experiences, bizarre dreams and inner landscapes. Even a cursory glance shows how his talent transforms the city life into a magical fairytale fantasy.
His art has been described as a cornucopia of colour and dynamic movement. He himself explains "what you see one day can often morph into something even more unique the next. Organic cell-like structures become cities...women crystallazes to sugar...heavens touch the earth." |
